Virtual Interior Design- The Top 5 Questions I Get Asked

So you’re thinking of hiring a virtual interior designer... but you still have questions! I’ve popped this blog together with answers to some of the most common questions I get asked. I hope you find it useful…


1. What’s the cost?


Bamboo Interior Design was born of the need to create interior design at an affordable cost. I wanted interior design to be accessible and affordable for people who want a beautiful home but can’t necessarily afford to enlist an in-house interior designer. That’s why the whole Bamboo Interior Design process is set at a flat fee of £250- no hidden costs! This includes your free initial consultation, at least one mood board, 2d visualisation, floor plan and shopping list with clickable links.


2. Are your designs set to a budget?


Absolutely- one of the questions I ask during our video consultation is how much you'd like to spend on the room. This is how using Bamboo Interiors can actually end up saving you money as I work to a strict budget. The minimum budget required for any scheme, I find, is around £500 and this only tends to cover accessories, wall art, etc if furniture is already in place.


3. It’s all online.. doesn’t that make your service a bit generic and impersonal?


No way! During the initial video consultation we discuss in detail your requirements for the space such as what the room is used for and how you’d like it to look, the things you like (and don’t like!), interior styles you might be interested in, colours, furniture, accessories and more! In fact I love a good chat and I often have to stop myself from getting carried away and chinwagging about interiors for hours!


4. Which rooms do you design?


I currently design living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries, children’s rooms, playrooms, home offices, hallways, dining rooms, games rooms, utility rooms and more!


Unfortunately I don‘t do kitchen or bathroom designs at the moment but it’s certainly something I’d love to think about introducing in the future.


5. What do I get in my client pack?


When you receive your client pack you’ll get at least one mood board (depending on the space being designed), a 2d visual elevation showing the view of one wall, a floor plan showing layout and furniture placement and a shopping list with clickable links so that you can get ordering straight away as easily as possible. I often get told the shopping list is one of the best parts as it saves you hours of trawling through internet searches looking for things you’re not actually 100% sure will fit into the scheme- I’ve got you covered!
